As a Tax Debt Resolution Managerat Jackson Hewitt, you will be an integral part of launching a new national business to help clients resolve their tax debt with the IRS.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a resolution specialist (Tax Attorney, Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant), you will:
• Guide and coach Case Managers on developing tax debt resolution strategies and client management
• Interact with clients as needed for IRS representation and represent clients to the IRS
• Assemble documents that will be presented to government agencies
• Use your tax knowledge to assess client cases and develop strategies to defend the taxpayer’s position
• Finalize and sign off on all client tax debt resolutions
• Conduct financial analysis of taxpayer’s income, expenses, and assets
• Work with IRS to help stop levy action and suspend and prevent collection and lien activity
• Communicate realistic timelines to clients and guide case managers on managing workflow
• Interact with clients, case managers, and other departments
• Prioritize case load and assignments
• Review Case Manager work on a regular basis
• Interact with Case Managers and tax authorities in a professional and timely manner
• Analyze processes and develop suggestions for improvement to overall business
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• 3+ years working in the individual tax preparation business completing federal and state tax returns, researching and correcting errors in tax returns, providing taxpayers with tax advice as needed
• 2+ years, or equivalent, managing work flow, projects, and employee relations
• Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills
• Proficient and comfortable with computers and new software (ability to learn tax debt resolution software)
• Proficient word processor
• Maintain professional status, either as an Enrolled Agent, CPA or Attorney
