Position Description
This Sr. Director of Lender Development will be responsible for development and performance of lender partnerships to meet long-range new business objectives and initiatives. This role is the direct liaison with the Company's existing lenders and new potential lenders, to ensure Clearlane maintains a full suite of high performing lenders. Reporting to the Sr. VP Auto Finance, this position is responsible for effective partnerships with cross-functional resources, including business development, compliance, legal, marketing, operations, etc. Candidate will be responsible for developing, communicating and leading the execution of strategies to drive to organizational goals and profitability.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead company's planning and execution of strategies to increase lender suite and company growth. Identification of new lender opportunities through development of industry relationships.
• Increase lender performance. In coordination with analytic resources determine the most effective models to establish lender optimal performance levels. Create programs that will ensure lenders meet the threshold of performance consistently to meet the organizational goals.
• Optimize lender pricing/routing strategy
• Drive efforts focused on increasing conversion rates amongst lenders
◦ Manage strategic business initiatives in a fast paced environment.
◦ Promote a customer-oriented focus and advocate consultative customer relationships.
◦ Locates or proposes potential lender business relationships by industry networking contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
◦ Screens potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.
◦ Serve as a key member of the executive team that sets the company's strategic direction
◦ Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals
◦ Closes new lender partnerships by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
◦ Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
◦ Maintain awareness of auto financial industry trends and position company products effectively as market conditions evolve
◦ Build strong working partnerships with the internal teams supporting financial products, services and operations to ensure successful results to team goals. Resolve issues as needed by acting as a primary liaison between the partner and company.
◦ Responsible for the development, implementation and analytical review of lender strategies to meet the organizational goals. Manage in coordination with Ally business partners including marketing, legal and compliance.
◦ Understanding of regulatory environment in direct to consumer marketing space. Direct teams performance to work with lender and/or Clearlane operations implementation team to streamline process and increase efficiencies.
◦ Direct implementation strategies with cross-functional teams to implement new lender partners. Validate success of implementation process with potential partners including manage the process to launch new lending products within the organization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred, MBA is ideal. 10 + years in customer service or financial services industry is needed. At least 7 years leadership experience preferred.
◦ 10 years plus of lending operations experience. Auto or Consumer Finance Industry relevant program management experience required
◦ A solid understanding of lender environment: products, players, technologies, and a rolodex of contacts in related markets
◦ Highly motivated leader, with strong organization skills able to effectively manage multiple priorities concurrently and thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
◦ Demonstrated leadership with the ability to set clear direction and motivate a team
◦ Technical knowledge, project management, and ability to influence others.
◦ Acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities.
◦ Accountability for business, functional, or operational areas, processes, or programs.
◦ Superior communication skills, including proven success delivering presentations to senior leaders and various sized groups; strong written communication skills
