Ameritas is looking for a Client Services Supervisor to drive the business by managing the daily operations of the Service Center providing the leadership for cultural, training and technological needs of the division.
Essential Functions:
• Provide support to the team members on handling complex issues. Handle complaints professionally, tactfully and with good judgment. Authorizes reasonable exceptions and obtains legal opinion when necessary.
• Supervise and evaluate the workflow and personnel of the division. Utilize business savvy in managing resources to meet or exceed customer expectations. Measure productivity, performance, and manage the process to meet our objectives. Provide feedback, counseling, training and/or disciplinary action as needed to improve performance. Handles performance appraisals and salary recommendations. Take corrective action where necessary and provide recognition and rewards for strong team performance. Maintain and monitor timecards and coordinate vacation schedules for the team.
• Assist the manager with creating, maintaining and meeting budget expectations.
• Handle stress and complexities related to customer service and dealing tactfully with associates and customers who become irate as a result of adverse policy determination.
• Handle any additional responsibilities and/or projects that may be assigned by the Manager.
• Effectively use Performance Management to "grow" the associates in the respective positions to meet their goals.
• Communicate and inform information timely and effectively to the team.
• The incumbent is required to communicate and work with other team leaders, other managers and/or other areas of the Company in an effective and cooperative manner to achieve team and Company goals and objectives. This requires involvement with Marketing, Information Services, Law, Actuarial, Accounting and Human Resources.
• Participate in opportunities to broaden personal and professional skills including industry-related courses, FLMI meetings, Human Resource seminars, Lunch and Learn programs and Toastmasters.
• Promote company Core Values and support company standards.
• Lead special projects as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications:
• A college degree or equivalent experience
• 5 years of client service or business related experience
• LOMA ACS preferred
• Series 6 Securities License is preferred but not required if working in the Client Services location that handles variable product processing
• Supervisory experience is desired
• Action oriented, organizational skills, customer service skills and the ability to work with detail and meet deadlines and time sensitive project schedules
• Displays a positive attitude through optimism, flexibility, ambition, personal motivation, shows interest in work and respect for clients and co-workers
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, displays a strong commitment to excellent customer service and ability to delegate tasks in a team environment
