About the Job
The CRA Mortgage Loan Officer will perform a wide range of duties relating to increasing Huntington's market share in the LMI/LMIT community. Meets standards and objectives defined by management for mortgage loan sales and increasing the overall client experience with Huntington. Focus on selling CRA mortgage products and services, targeting LMI income individuals and areas, as well as non-profit organizations. The CRA Mortgage Loan Officer will assume professional responsibility for all originated mortgage loan products from application to close.
• Develop referral relationships with realtors, builder, bankers, and other sources for the purpose of originating residential loans through ongoing sales efforts
• Achieves monthly and/or quarterly production CRA goals (established by the Mortgage Division (CRA) on an annual basis and published in the CRA MLO Incentive Plan document)
• Collection of appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan packages in time frames set by management
• Develop additional CRA prospects and referral contacts
• Maintain knowledge of Huntington National Banks product offering, policies and procedures, processing and underwriting procedures and general department guidelines.
• Develop a business plan
• Conduct and coordinate Homebuyer seminars, Financial Literacy Seminars, Credit and Budget classes and all other technical assistance and education outreach deemed necessary in LMI/LMIT tract areas
• Communicate with applicants and/or referral sources by providing timely updates and progress reports
• Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicants and support staffs expectations
• Attend and participate in all Mortgage Lending meetings as required by management.
• Serves as mortgage liaison to all other lines of business through attending team meetings. And accepting and submitting cross-lines-of-business referrals and ensuring a warm hand-off is completed with each transaction.
• Acquire knowledge and maintain currency of all Compliance, Regulatory and Business Unit Policy, Standard and Procedure requirements associated with position.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in Mortgage Origination
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3-5 years' experience in and knowledge of conventional and governmental lending guidelines.
• Ability to successfully register with NMLS and pass all required continuing education classes.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
