Job Description: ETL Administrator
Key skills: Production Support, Datastage and SQL
• Perform performance tuning and testing of ETL jobs Participating in large scale application design and development of ETL jobs
• Participate in after-hours ETL on-call rotation, monitor Operations console; debug ETL related production issues
• Develop and implement jobs related to production fixes.
• Administer ETL servers. Work with Infrastructure team to periodically update and patch ETL servers.
• Develop SQL scripts and shell scripts related to ETL processes. Develop end to end ETL objects and artifacts
• Analyze test results and trace problems in ETL processes
• Maintain ETL playbook documentation, document ETL-related issues and perform RCA; Add jobs to CA7 enterprise scheduler. Preparing business, functional and technical specifications documents for ETL
• Conduct design reviews for ETLs and define requirements. Add metadata to Information governance catalog(IGC)
• Participate in developing coding standards. Create and review dimensional/3NF data models
• Provide production support for ETL processes. On ad-hoc basis, perform 3rd shift support for monitoring critical ETL processes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in position offered or related field; and
5 years of work experience with the following:
• SQL; Data warehouse, database design, SQL and PL/SQL experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation;
• ETL Tools. - IBM DataStage or Ab Initio and/or tools such for ETL development
• UNIX scripting, job scheduling tools such as at least one of the following: CA7, Autosys and IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler;
• MS Office applications: MS Word, Visio, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint;
• Full SDLC lifecycle experience.
In Lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field and 5 years of experience in position offered or related field, the company will accept a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field and 2 years of experience in position offered or related field
2 years of work experience with the following:
IBM DataStage tools such as Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Enterprise Metadata Environment (EME) including -
• MS Office applications: MS Word, Visio, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint;
• Full SDLC lifecycle experience.
1 year of work experience with the following:
• SQL; Data warehouse, database design, SQL and PL/SQL experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation;
• UNIX scripting, job scheduling tools such as at least one of the following: CA7, Autosys and IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler;
