Position Overview
RGA is looking for a Cloud Operations Executive Director to set the global vision and strategy for cloud architecture, engineering, operations, and security for RGA’s cloud services.
RGA is looking for a leader who will build, grow, and mentor a world-class team that delivers a scalable, reliable, and safe infrastructure for RGA’s global cloud platform and products leveraging various cloud vendors.
The Cloud Operations Executive Director will foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, innovation, and DevOps principles; developing a team of thought leaders for cloud operations at scale enabling the success of RGA customer digital transformation journeys.

Responsibilities
• Drive the maturity of a cloud delivery framework to ensure intake and delivery of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Responsible for technical leadership, policy development, project oversight and support of the cloud operations function of RGA.
• Develop and deliver an end-to-end total service for cloud-enabled products and services.
• Leads budgeting, procurement and expense control around cloud technology assets, resources, and services.
• Maintain and foster internal client relationships. Provide strategic ownership of these relationships and ensure that clients’ objectives are met.
• Deploy and utilize automation tools and DevOps principles to minimize human operational requirements, provide flexibility and elasticity across cloud infrastructure providers, and facilitate easy movement to and from the cloud.
• Creates, evangelizes, and institutionalizes automated cloud operations services, programs, and best practices across the organization.
• Work with internal and external partners and vendors to maintain 24x7 global operations support.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching for all staff and foster a culture of discipline, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports.
• Manage KPIs and metrics that ensure a high bar for uptime, provide deep visibility into the health of the platform, and incorporate them into cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives. Establish baselines and track against industry benchmarks and standards
Requirements
• Proven history introducing and executing Enterprise-wide organizational systems, processes and frameworks.
• Ability to set clear expectations & goals and hold people accountable to them.
• Knowledge of common computer security issues, including network and application vulnerabilities.
• Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of cloud computing, storage and networking. Designing, provisioning and administration using best practices across multiple public cloud offerings (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Advanced knowledge of DevOps organizational structures and delivery methodologies.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to interact well at all levels of the organization.
• Continuous learning focused on new technology and processes that will improve customer service, reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven experience articulating technical concepts to all audiences, including C-level executives and customers.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; proven ability to work effectively with technical contributors, management and executive leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 10+ years in complex data center or cloud operations, technical project management, client consulting, software implementation, including experience with data center computing strategy and transformation management with cloud services evaluation and Implementation
• Previous experience running day-to-day cloud operations, managing environments and large-scale cloud application deployments
• Demonstrated experience attracting, leading, and developing DevOps staff in a geographically dispersed environment
Preferred:
• Insurance Industry knowledge
• Master’s degree and/or LOMA certification
