The primary purpose of the job is: Strategic Information Technology direction for the DSA Re Life and Annuity. This role is responsible to ensure reliable and resilient operations of computer systems inclusive of hardware and software. Working with providers of hardware and software the leader must find the best balance of cost and reliability for operating the Life and Annuity systems in DSA Re operations.
The leader needs to identify opportunities to improve customer service delivery through the use of various technologies. The technology leader drives business effectiveness by partnering with other business leaders to acquire, test, and deploy new systems. The staff member will be a key contributor to build out of modern flexible, scalable systems to process incoming documents, phone calls through predictive analytics, rules engines, imaging systems, Artificial Intelligence, cloud services, and other modern technologies and tools. The role will primarily integrate technologies using commercial toolsets as well as in house generated code.

As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
• Will impact 6+ million customers and build out client relationships with our business partners.
• Application Development – This role will use a buy first approach and build where necessary to show differentiation in the industry.
• Influence leadership to leverage technology for competitive advantage. Investigating new technologies and how those tools can be used to further the mission of the DSA Re business. Negotiate with internal and external providers to build up capabilities of the firm. Effective execution of this will create additional career opportunities.
• Identifying, proposing, and executing business cases for improve customer service, improved compliance and/or company financial performance. Using technology to deploy automation.
• SLA and application stability - Key goal will to be have an efficient production platform that scales through the use of technology, Resolving production issues for the short term and driving towards long term SLA achievement and low maintenance costs.
• As a great manager you will provide direction, motivate and grow talent, and empower and coach teams toward higher levels of performance.
• This role will be challenged to build new service platforms that will lever existing platforms including Mainframe, Client server, data lake, cloud, and web technologies
• This person will be a key technical resource aiding in proof of concepts, software selection, and agile methodologies within the DSA Re organization. Leading by example this individual will have high energy and a can do attitude. The main goal of this role is to build out new service platforms that will be the industries best with continued process improvement to keep the company moving forward in technology.
• The individual will play a critical role in defining and implementing solutions to rapidly integrate and absorb acquired companies or blocks of business.
• Make recommendations on software selections and software development approaches.
What we are looking for
• Must be able to quickly understand new technologies and apply the technologies to achieve efficient processing with proper controls and metrics.
• Using agile and Dev Ops as the execution methodologies the team member will be creative and driven to be the best in our industry.
• Must have solid business acumen that would drive towards delivery of quality systems in a fast pace high demand environment.
• Having life insurance and annuity processing business knowledge will enable this staff person to build relationship with business leaders that will drive our strategy and execution. This role will be a key role in reinventing our service platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Ten or more years’ minimum level of job-related experience required.
• Education in Business Technology or relevant experience is required. Having deep knowledge of Life and/or Annuity systems, processes, and products would be required. Technical advance working skills in all platforms of technology Mainframe, Client Server, Web, and/or Cloud are key.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must. Ability to attract and motivate creative ambitious team members will make this role a success.
• Critical that this role is filled by a professionally confident person who has ability to drive innovation and does not accept status quo.
• Proven record required providing direction, motivating and growing employees to drive high levels of performance.
