Summary
This position is responsible for sourcing and qualifying new deal prospects while attempting to meet prospects’ expectations and maintaining profitability for the bank. Involved in preparation of the Prospect Analysis Report and working closely with referral sources and prospective borrowers in the proposal process. Responsibilities include reviewing and qualifying new business opportunities and screening deals with colleagues in assigned market and working with the underwriting team and senior management. Also responsible for developing new opportunities through independent and joint calling efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in qualifying prospective ABL borrowers through analysis and preparing screening memos. Obtains sufficient customer information to identify relevant risks inherent in a transaction and to propose a credit-worthy deal structure that is profitable for the bank and meets the prospects’ requests
• Assist in qualifying and sourcing prospective borrowers through direct calling and referral sources in assigned market
• Works with BDO team in assigned territory, Underwriting and Senior Management to structure deals in a profitable and competitive manner while attempting to propose on and win transactions. Once deal structure is approved, delivers proposals to customers and drives the process to completion which is obtaining a final customer decision.
• Cross sells any other bank products that are appropriate for the prospect’s risk profile.
• Develops and maintains relationships with key referral sources (PEGs, investment banks, etc.) and other potential senior/junior lending partners. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the bank’s customer base.
• Develops the bank’s brand by representing the bank at trade exhibits, events and conferences.
• Shares knowledge, ideas and information relating to risk management across the business.
• Complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
• “LIVE” the Bank’s Mission Statement and “PRACTICE” the Bank’s Corporate Strategy.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Competencies
• Strong risk and financial analysis background.
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data, identify the relevant risks and rewards of the proposed prospect deal.
• Proven ability to communicate, influence, collaborate and maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships. Uses appropriate techniques and methods to effectively convince others to accept ideas and recommendations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Can present convincing rationale that communicates viewpoint and or perspective.
• Ability to exercise prudent judgment to make decision affecting both customers and bank.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university; and seven to ten years commercial middle market lending and relationship management in the respective market; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
Valid and current driver’s license required for travel to customer's places of business as necessary.
