Responsibilities
BKD’s Health Care Performance Advisory Services is seeking a Senior Nurse Consultant who utilizes clinical and operational skills to assess, plan, implement and monitor improvement activities for health care clients of the firm. In this role, you will engage with physicians, administrators and other clinicians to evaluate processes and discuss opportunities. You should be comfortable with reviewing, analyzing and interpreting data (produced mostly in our proprietary analytics tools- BKD Outcomes Compass™), and know how to communicate insights from the data in a concise compelling fashion. The health care industry is transitioning from volume to value which will require that the consultant have a deep understanding of current FFS processes (such as UR, case management, and medical necessity), and embrace Accountable Care Organizations and bundled payment programs. In this role you will gain experience in more than one product line and be encouraged to develop your own deliverables based on your experience and passion.
**This position can be located in any of the following areas: Kansas City, MO; Springfield, MO; or Dallas, TX
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Lead projects for healthcare entities ranging from regional health care centers, private physician groups, urgent care centers, ambulatory surgery centers.
• Create and drive work plan deliverables and timelines; coordinating project proposal development (RFP responses) and submission processes
• Able to flexibly communicate with varied audiences, using appropriate and effective methods (written, verbal, presentation, illustration), style, grammar, and tone
• Sought by others as a team thought leader.
• Develop client relationships that results in follow-up work and is requested by clients for further involvement
• Stay up to date on payment reform programs: ACO, bundled payments, MACRA, MIPS, etc.
• Must be willing to travel approximately 30-40% of time
Qualifications

• Ability to interact with various levels of management and clients.
• Ability to move multiple projects forward within a specific timeline and budget while working at a detailed level.
• Able to follow, critically evaluate, and improve upon current processes.
• Ability to recognize issues and identify solutions.
• Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.
• Research and project management capabilities.
Required Education & Prior Experience:
• BSN degree required
• Master’s degree in nursing, informatics, business or healthcare administration preferred
• Proven project management experience
Desirable Differentiators:
• Case management and/or utilization review experience
• Population health experience
• Experience working with health care databases and/or analytic tools
• Business development experience
• Consulting experience in process improvement, supply chain or software implementation
• Preferably has 3-5 years of healthcare consulting experience
