The Quality Assurance Test Analyst assists in the collaboration of requirements, implementation and support of processes and tools
that enhance and make testing efforts more efficient and effective. Coordinates and manages test data and test scripts and assists
with the development and implementation of test automation efforts.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist with the design and execution of test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements.
• Implement test plans, (including automation), and validation strategies.
• Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Identify and investigate issues found during testing. Work closely with developers and other quality analysts to document and resolve issues. Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
• Create and maintain data for automated processes.
• Performs analysis and design by translating business requirements and developing testing solutions that yield relevant business information.
• Collaborates with Developers on the requirements, design, code and execution of automated UI and Process automation tests to reduce repetitive manual testing.
• Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
• Assists in devising improvements to current procedures and helps develop models of possible future configurations. Assists with work flow analysis and recommendations for quality improvements.
• Collaborates on design, code, test and implementation of end-user reporting tools and processes.
• Provides on-going maintenance and support of testing support tools. Coordinates and manages test data and automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing.
• Supports development team with testing and implementation of new business systems tools, and assists business customers throughout the conversion.
• Provides support for product implementations and modifications impacting repositories, project request documentation, testing and daily monitoring of stored data; executes automated test scripts in support of projects.
• Develops regression testing process that can be executed to ensure system(s) are not compromised.
• Serves as testing subject matter expert offering guidance on testing techniques, test data, quality control and quality improvements.
• Compiles reports of testing records as required; develop new reports as needed.
• Assists with presentations and training to peers and customers within the functional business areas on testing tools and processes.
• Assists business partners in understanding the test tools to allow them to better access the data independently.
• This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.
• This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Consultative, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of project and process management and business systems requirements.
• Knowledge of technical environment (technologies, applications, projects and processes) in the functional business areas.
• Strong customer relations skills
• Ability to research solutions and analyze data to provide recommendations.
• Sound verbal and written communication and human relations skills.
• Product and industry knowledge.
• Experience with automated testing and test tools.
• Knowledge and understanding of QA techniques and processes.
• Knowledge and understanding of automated testing techniques and tools.
• Experience with QA techniques and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Agile/Lean methodology
• Experience with work management tools (such as Jira)
• Experience with test management tools (such as ALM)
