Description
Part of Product Solutions in the Individual Life Insurance organization, the Manager, Contracts position will serve as the primary point of contact and have end-to-end responsibility for all related contract development, filings, and implementation in support of the growing demands of the Customer Experience/Explore team and emerging LEAP initiatives.
This position can be based in Newark, NJ or Hartford, CT.
Responsibilities:
• Helping to build, test and manage variable resource model to supplement current team capabilities under times of peak demand.
• End-to-end responsibility for contract development, filing, implementation support, and ready to sell updates.
• Research, analysis, and development of contracts forms that comply with applicable laws and regulations and meet the product design and marketing needs.
• Provide input and guidance to Customer Experience/Explore and LEAP teams on any regulatory questions and issues.
• Coordination with teams and key business partners in the product, actuarial, and legal areas to ensure that contracts and related documents are complete and accurate and to secure required sign-offs.
• Planning, preparation and review of any required filings and follow-up responses to any questions/objections from regulators to achieve necessary approvals.
• Working with the development and testing teams and other business partners to support implementation plans.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of previous contract drafting, filing and/or product development experience.
• Detailed knowledge of individual life insurance products and knowledge of regulatory requirements and related industry standards is strongly preferred.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand, explain and write complex technical material.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Results-oriented with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work as an independent contributor and as part of a team with minimal direction and oversight.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities both within the team and with key internal and external business partners.
• Demonstrated learning ability and attention to personal growth and development.
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in using MS Word and Excel and Adobe software.
