Job Description
The Vice President of Global Loan Syndications is responsible for assisting in the execution and ongoing management of syndicated loans for a broad range of banking relationships between SVB and complex, often public, global enterprises. Clients industries include Technology, Life Science/Healthcare, Energy and Resource Innovation, VC and Private Equity Funds, Sponsor-backed businesses and Premium Wine companies which generate revenue from $50 million to $1 billion annually. The Syndications group is a dynamic and fast-paced team consisting of bright, energetic, and industry-confident individuals striving to help clients achieve their financial goals.
This role will provide broad lending exposure with the opportunity to work across all US regions and occasional European credits. The Vice President will work across all innovation sectors including Technology, Life Sciences/Healthcare, Energy Resource and Innovation, VC and Private Equity Funds, Sponsor Finance, and Premium Wine, and will gain exposure to a variety of financing products including Cash Flow Lending, Asset Based Lending, Recurring Revenue, Project Finance and Capital Call/Subscription Lending.
A Vice President in this role will:
Facilitate team interaction throughout the SVB organization, including internal banking teams, credit teams, loan operations and legal counsel, as well as external teams, to provide optimal loans structures for SVB-led transactions
Play an integral role in helping SVB to win and maintain lead left positions by working closely with SVB teams to interface and coordinate across functions
Help drive follow-up on referrals for prospective clients and assist in the presentation of SVB syndicated loan products
Develop syndication offering memoranda for transactions
Lead due diligence process; Play lead role with lenders at partner institutions to support their diligence processes through answering financial, strategy-based and credit structure questions
Lead the preparation of documentation related to the transaction through closing and ongoing monitoring
Support the loan closing process and ongoing agency services
Oversee and develop loan market insight and guidance on syndicated financings; including tracking comparable transactions for SVB and non-SVB led debt issuances
Provide updates on industry and loan markets for use internally and externally
Oversee updates for SVB syndication marketing materials; including tombstones
Oversee investor data site for diligence on new transactions and ongoing communication for existing transactions
Help drive SVBs leadership in loan syndications and capital markets to support SVB and Client’s long term growth strategy
Serve as a mentor junior team members
Develop sector and credit expertise to play role insightful role to capital markets innovation to innovation Sector
Qualifications
Must be excellent team player
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently in addition to providing organization and leadership to deal teams
Must be able to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of SVB's bank operations
Superior financial modeling abilities and credit analysis skills
Knowledge of loan markets and pricing, a plus
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; MBA/CFA a plus
Minimum of 5 years of recent, relevant work experience in corporate lending/finance
