Overview
SMBC is seeking a Contract Recruiter who will be responsible for the recruiting process that enables our stakeholders across the firm to hire the right talent for SMBC’s Americas Division. They partner with their internal clients to understand their needs as well as to consult and advise on a complete hiring strategy. The team oversees hiring for our Analyst and Intern programs, experienced hires and temporary employees. There is a strong focus on relationship management, both internally and externally, as the team engages with hiring managers, interviewers, employee referrals, candidates, various HR teams, external organizations, 3rd party vendors and academic institutions. The team strives to offer a quality hiring experience for all parties involved. In addition to the hiring efforts, they are ambassadors for the firm’s inclusion and diversity initiatives as well as SMBC’s brand in the market.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Recruiter who will be responsible for all recruiting related activities from sourcing candidates all the way through closing offers. The focus of this role will be to collaborate with key stakeholders to drive the full lifecycle recruiting process, improve both the client and candidate experience and drive key change programs.
Responsibilities include:
• Establish relationships with senior business leaders and HR partners to deliver talent for current and future head-count plans
• Build and manage relationships with candidates, prioritizing a positive candidate & hiring manager experience, while building candidate pipelines that support team hiring goals
• Consult with business to influence and drive all aspects of hiring strategy by using identified hiring criteria, market trend analysis, internal equity, and diversity needs, combined with a deep understanding of client's talent requirements
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to develop long and short term, cost effective recruitment strategies including establishing new ways to drive the employee referral program and creative ways to source candidates
• Manage a recruiting practice that drives candidate engagement through all stages of the recruiting process and delivers a high quality and consistent experience for hiring managers and candidates; proactively anticipate opportunities for process improvements
• Guide offer negotiations, both internally and externally, to reach a mutually beneficial agreement between the candidate and the firm
• Partner with internal marketing to help SMBC build our employer brand in the market
• Track and analyze key performance metrics to influence data driven decisions and to share results/trends with stakeholders
Qualifications
Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in corporate recruitment for experienced professionals in the financial services industry
• Minimum of 5 years of overall experience in recruitment (prior recruiting agency experience welcome and preferred)
• Experience using applicant tracking systems and ensuring all hiring activities are captured correctly (iCIMS preferred)
• Experience negotiating complex offers
• Experience using LinkedIn and other tools for proactively sourcing candidates
