GENERAL DESCRIPTION (SUMMARY, SCOPE, PURPOSE)
The position reports directly to the Cash Application Manager and is primarily responsible for Supervising a team of individuals in the accounting center and working closing with an offshore team to ensure the accurate and timely postings of Cash Receipts from multiple bank accounts in the various Broker Management system(s), GL system(s) and any additionally acquired systems. The delivery of accurate, timely and efficient work-product couple with strong customer service is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the cash application specialists and ensure cash is posted accurately and timely in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure the accuracy of cash receipt posted by onshore and offshore cash application team.
• Ensure exception items and unapplied cash are resolved according to company policies.
• Approve Accounts receivable write off requests
• Assist in the reconciliation of client accounts as requested
• Provide reconciliations and reports to the accounting enter GL team as requested
• Lead, coach, develop, evaluate and monitor the team.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
• Requires at least 3 years’ experience in accounting field.
• Requires at least 2 years Supervisory experience.
• Experience in a shared services accounting environment is a Plus.
• Insurance Brokerage Experience preferred
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate/Advanced Word and Excel Skills required
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Work under pressure to deadlines
• High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent job experience
