The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager is responsible for creating and leading SEO efforts and developing site content. This is a hands-on role, working directly with cross-functional groups to plan, get buy-in, and execute. The incumbent will act as an “SEO Champion”, advocating for SEO best practices throughout the organization and establishing new processes to ensure those best practices are followed. He/she will provide strategic input and direction into the overall keyword and content strategies for both Union Bank and PurePoint Financial marketing websites. This person will work with our Digital Marketing, Web Content Team and agencies to implement these strategies.
Major Responsibilities:
• Own and coordinate SEO keyword strategy and site content in partnership with internal and agency partners
• Conduct keyword research in support of business line objectives, keeping pace with SEO, content marketing and digital marketing best practices and ensuring best practices are followed by the Lines of Business and Web Content Team
• Maintain editorial calendar that supports keyword strategy and oversee content creation (executed by third party content developers).
• Provide analysis and recommendations for on-page keyword and technical improvements in support of SEO goals
• Align efforts with social, site development, and paid acquisition teams, ensuring SEO best practices are being implemented
• Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams/ management on performance data, timelines, updates and key accomplishments
• Ensure adherence to all bank compliance reporting requirements and other applicable policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):
• Bachelor’s degree 5 years previous relevant (SEO) work experience required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Must have a passion for SEO, content and results
• Excellent writing skills
• Basic technical knowledge of publishing within a CMS
• Ability to interact with partners as the “SEO Champion” at all levels in Marketing, Compliance, Product Management, and technology, as well as agency and vendor partners
• Strong understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem
• Extensive knowledge of campaign analytics, desktop & mobile marketing
• Comfortable owning budgets and managing agencies
• Keen eye for details and data – strong desire to test and learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
