Director, Global Metals and Mining, Investment & Corporate Banking
Description
The Director is a relationship manager leading investment banking deal teams, collaborating and generating solutions to current and prospective corporate Metals clients. The universe of Metals coverage includes companies, primarily but not exclusively in North America, that produce or distribute finished metals products (bars, ingots, tubes, flat, and long products), and metal recyclers who produce the same raw materials as their upstream counterparts.
The Director is responsible for a multitude of responsibilities including developing and growing client relationships, providing advisory services to clients while leading M&A and capital raising transactions, delivering the firm to clients working in a team-oriented environment, and planning, organizing, developing, and delivering client presentations while managing analyst / associate teams.
BMO Capital Markets’ Global Metals & Mining Group is a leader in its field. In 2017, BMO Capital Markets again led more North American mining equity issuance, and advised on more mining M&A transactions, than any other investment bank. BMO Capital Markets’ Global Metals & Mining Conference celebrated its 27th year in 2018, and is a marquee event for the industry. And for the ninth year in a row, Global Finance has named BMO Capital Markets the “World’s Best Metals & Mining Investment Bank.” The Group covers Metals & Mining clients with investment & corporate banking professionals based in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, London, Melbourne, and Beijing.
This role is expected to be based in New York, but could also potentially be based in Toronto or Vancouver. The Director will share the universe of Metals clients with a Director currently based in New York, while being supported by the Metals & Mining team in Toronto, along with product support both north and south of the border. Since this is a coverage role, the preference is for hiring a Director, but there may be a willingness to hire an experienced Vice President as well.
