Effectiveness in this role requires a unique blend of knowledge and skills, while providing exposure to virtually all asset classes and asset valuation models, plus all production processes and content requirements as driven by Investments Front Office, Finance, ERM, Treasury, Insurance Business Units, and others.

The roles and responsibilities focus on applied quantitative methods, in combination with effective process, operations, and controls. Operators require strong knowledge in asset valuation models (particularly fixed income) and security level market risk analytics, with strong foundation in understanding complex process systems, and an overall process orientation. Programming/coding skills are beneficial.
• Investment Analytics Operations / Production: Directly support various asset modeling projections / production processes to produce required economic scenarios and outputs, using internally developed systems, models, and tools, and/or vendor analytics models or platforms.
• Participate in development / preparation of documentation driven by internal or external requirements, including narratives about specific stress test / capital assessment production runs, process maps, procedure documents, or other run time documents, as well as operational controls specific to production runs.
• Perform reviews of inputs and outputs to ensure quality and coverage, and results that are consistent with each economic scenario. Requires ability to understand sensitivity of models and cash flows to risk factors and scenarios, and ability to diagnose suspected or actual problems.
• Participate in continuous process improvements and other enhancements to processes or platforms applied in asset modeling and projections
• Support migration of manual processes into production, including design and testing
• Participate in review of processes, operations, controls, change management, and outputs by consumers, second line of defense functions (e.g., ERM, ORM, Finance Control), third line of defense functions (internal audit), and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, financial auditor such as PWC, etc.).
What we are looking for:
• Must desire to work in an operationally focused role that leverages applied knowledge of quantitative investment analytics. This is not a traditional quantitative developer or front-office asset management role, but engages with individuals in these roles.
• Enjoys a role with a broad scope requiring solid foundation across breadth of the scope, versus a role as SME with deep expertise in more narrow discipline.
• Minimum B.S. in quantitative field. Relevant quantitative Master’s degree or certificate program is a bonus.
• Knowledge of asset modeling and projection platforms and processes applied in production by Investment Analytics is a strong plus.
• Fundamental knowledge of asset modeling, security market risk analytics, issuer credit risk analytics, and/or investment portfolio analytics is a strong plus.
• Experience with internal control or monitoring functions, including Internal Audit, Operation Risk Management, Finance Control Unit, ERM, or willingness to interface with.
• Ability to work in dynamic and evolving work environment that includes tight deadlines, multiple processes operating simultaneously, plus changing or competing priorities.
• Experience working with process systems from either IT or operations experience, particularly process systems used for asset modeling or investment analytics.
• Experience with stress tests or economic capital for financial institutions, market data, scenario data, operating models and interpreting results is strong plus.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, and willingness and ability to interact with teams and individuals who supply inputs or support infrastructure applied in operating models, as well as customers / consumers of content produced from across Investments Front Office, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance teams (Investment Accounting, CP&A, Capital Planning, Treasury / Liquidity Management), and insurance business units.
Technical Skills and Expertise:
• Microsoft: TFS and/or SharePoint experience
• Either CFA Charter, FRM Charter, PRM, or working toward is a big plus
• VBA and SQL coding/scripts, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply
• Some experience in production of asset valuation, modeling, analytics preferred
• Fundamentals in Statistics / Quantitative Methods (Regression Analysis)
• R software/programming, or other Statistical software experience is a plus
• Python, C#, and/or Perl also a plus
• Applied asset valuation and modeling training / experience
• Process Analysis Techniques or equivalent is a big plus (e.g., Six Sigma, etc.)
• Microsoft: Excel, and other MS Office products
