Carries out and develops procedures to ensure that all information systems products and data services meet organization standards and end-user requirements in an applications development environment. Evaluates and tests new or modified data processes and software development procedures to ensure that programs developed throughout the company function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. Support responsibilities will include the
development and execution of test scripts for new and/or modified software applications and software development procedures and standards with an emphasis on the data.
Job Description
• Leads departmental staff in the performance of the following QA activities: understanding data system requirements and process specifications across all business functions, developing test plans, creating and executing manual and automated test scripts, tracking and reporting test incidents, facilitating User Acceptance Testing, preparing testing summary reports, and facilitates discussions and reviews of testing progress and results with QA Analysts and end users.
• Analyzes and prioritizes recurring Quality Assurance problems and recommends preventative solutions either through departmental procedures or training suggestions.
• Acquires a thorough understanding of the company data infrastructure and recommend improvements.
• Develops quality assurance application acceptance criteria.
• Design reusable and modular frameworks of the highest quality possible for automated testing.
• May develop automated scripts for regression, load, and performance testing
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
• Strong proficiency with PC Windows.
• MS SQL Server/TSQL
• Demonstrated expertise in information technology concepts and applications.
• Demonstrated expertise with quality assurance and acceptance testing methodologies and/or training
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a team environment, preferably in systems development and support.
• Create strong morale and effectiveness within a team.
• Set priorities appropriately and establish realistic schedules and response times.
• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Maintain the perspective of the end-user to ensure that the software will function optimally in the business process environment.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be anticipatory of customer needs, market conditions, and changes in the business climate.
• Understand concepts of and be able to apply projects, structured testing and development methodologies.
• User of testing tools.
• Experience with test case design strategies and automated testing techniques such as data-driven and keyword-driven scripting.
• Scripting load/performance tests and analyzing the test results are highly desirable.
• Make the right decision at the right time independently in a fast-paced software development environment under tight project deadlines.
• Expertise on industry specific knowledge.
Typical Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typical Range of Experience
• 7 years of directly related experience
