Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the oversight of complex enterprise projects for the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) group. The Project Manager will drive and monitor the projects using the Enterprise Project Lifecycle (EPLC) from initiation to closure. This role requires a deep understanding of project management requirements; strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills; and the ability to lead and mentor project managers through the EPLC processes and requirements. The Project Manager must be able to initiate and communicate status of the project and/or project to senior and executive stakeholders and be able to evaluate delivery against the business strategies and goals.
Responsibilities:
• Provides clear direction to project team regarding the results to be achieved
• Anticipates and removes barriers for self and team to achieve results
• Navigates successfully through ambiguous situations, helping others remain focused on achieving results
• Acts on escalated issues, also providing recommendations when issues need to be further escalated
• Manages time and priorities by working effectively and focusing on the highest priorities
• Applies best practices in project and process management to projects, projects and activities
• Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve business or technology processes and add efficiency and quality
• Examines variances, disruptions and inconsistencies to determine how planning processes could be improved
• Continually monitors plans and processes for problems and need for changes/reallocation of resources
• Uses methodologies and tools to drive consistency, accuracy and quality of project results
• Understands the breadth of PM methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile critical path, six sigma) including why and how a particular approach is used in different circumstances
• Develops advanced expertise in the tools and methodologies supported by MUFG UB
• Understands how the uniqueness of financial services industry influences the application of tools and methodologies and the success characteristics of projects
• Develops understanding of the structure of Financial services firms/Banks and how they are typically supported by infrastructure groups (e.g., IT, HR, Finance)
• Understands the business, the industry and the role IT plays in driving financial success
• Creates well developed well supported business cases for technology recommendations, including financial rationale, cost-benefit analysis, etc.
• Prioritizes investments in technology to reflect business conditions and needed impact (i.e., most done with least resources)
• Completes compliance training courses and certifications on-time and successfully with passing scores or course completions on transcripts
• Adheres to all information security policies with customer privacy requirements by avoiding any documented violations during the year
• Demonstrates an understanding and follow bank policy and procedures by incurring no attributable audit or compliance testing issues
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5+ years working in relevant project management experience
• Minimum of 2+ years working directly in a financial service organization or in Cybersecurity Operations, Information Security or equivalent
• Minimum of a BA/BS degree, preferable formal studies in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent
• Minimum of industry certification including PMP, ACP, Prince or other security certification(s)
• Experience working within the Financial Services Industry preferred
• Experience in working with Clarity, MS Project preferred
• Demonstrates outstanding oral and written communications skills
