About the Job
The art director helps lead our creative team and develops multi-disciplinary creative concepts that support our marketing strategies for our global business. The Art Director reports to the Global Creative Director, who reports into the Global Head of Brand for PIMCO’s Global Marketing Group. The art director helps manage a team of designers, integrates with the all teams in the marketing organization and liaises with creative members based in Newport Beach, CA, Tokyo and London.
The Art Director produces and helps to lead the team to create marketing assets on all platforms including: print, social, events, presentations, digital and video.
Responsibilities
• Develops and art directs creative concepts, campaigns and communications that integrate brand messaging and style guidelines to support the strategic objectives of PIMCO’s global business goals across all mediums – web, video, print and social media
• Is a leader and steward of the brand, helping to establish and evolve the PIMCO brand effectively and strategically to grow brand equity globally, favorability and consideration.
• Helps lead the design team, providing art direction to designers and overseeing the creative production process and work flow from concept to implementation.
• Engages and collaborates effectively with business partners and marketing partners to work to achieve strategic objectives.
• Establishes efficient and effective processes, including development of a strong creative brief, project management, the team’s ability to meet and respond to client needs/opportunities and deliver consistently high quality work. Responsible for helping manage the accuracy, timeliness and quality of work produced by the creative team.
• Leads strategic brainstorming and collaborative activities with members of the design team and marketing
• Manages outside creative resources like photographers and freelancers, as needed.
Position Requirements
• Qualifications and Attributes
◦ Minimum 7-10 years experience in creative capacity and 2-3 years in a lead role.
◦ Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Powerpoint. Proficiency in CSS, UX/UI design principles, AfterEffects, Sketch, InVision or other prototyping tools
◦ Experienced in data visualization, infographics, animations/storyboarding
◦ Asset management industry experience not required
◦ Demonstrated ability to manage a team.
◦ Strong project management skills.
◦ Ability to think strategically and be involved in creative review, art direction and resource/work flow management.
◦ Ability to work in a fast-paced, market-driven business environment.
◦ Outstanding written and verbal skills
◦ Strong collaboration skills
◦ Strong knowledge of current design trends
◦ BA/BS is required.
