JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the Human Resources (HR) Department in the following areas; employee relations, performance management, affirmative action, employee investigations and employment law compliance and assist the HRBP’s with the business needs. Will partner and collaborate with subject matter experts in all functional HR areas, including training, recruiting, compensation, and payroll. The Employee Relations Associate should be flexible and able to assist their team members when needed, while also focusing on their own priorities and maintaining the appropriate balance. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with the administration of HR policies and programs, including legal compliance, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, and employee communications.
2. Provides general HR support by conducting reviewing and assisting employees with the completion of forms, creating presentations, developing communication tools to enhance understanding of HR policies and programs, and responding to general employee questions regarding HR polices related to employee relations, performance management and HR best practices.
3. Works with Human Resources Business Partners on special projects as assigned.
4. Identify gaps in existing HR policies and contribute to the development of new HR policies and procedures. Consult with and deliver new and amended policies and procedures into the business units.
5. Maintains current knowledge of company policies and procedures, employee handbook, and legal requirements.
6. Assists with audit compliance and procedure quality control through the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and other related documentation, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
7. Assist with developing a strong understanding of the business functions and use data, metrics, and analysis to make informed decisions, build the business case for HR programs, align HR strategy with corporate and business goals, and assess the performance of HR programs.
8. Assist with identifying and managing HR risks to the organization, including the application and implementation of HR policies and procedures, as well as compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
• Intermediate knowledge of Human Resources, labor laws, related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Company policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Bank operations and lending products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other company operational policies and procedures
• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio
• Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs
• Strong attention to detail and effective organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive, helpful attitude
• Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed
• Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
• Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related Human Resources work experience.
• Prior experience within a banking/mortgage environment is preferred.
• Human Resources Certificate or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation preferred.
