Investment Services includes the Model Business Development Group of Capital Group. Its mission is to represent our investment process, thinking and competitive advantages in a compelling manner. The team works closely with sales leadership and marketing team to identify and meet the needs of financial advisors and home office COIs within our ever changing, diverse and complex industry.
As the Senior Business Development Manager representing model portfolios you will be a critical member of a small team responsible for designing, driving and measuring the end-to-end model business via sales, marketing and product initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and measure the overall model portfolio development plan and approach, in support of the Business Development lead
• Drive and lead internally-focused activity to coordinate cross-functional support team with efforts or initiatives aimed at growing model sales.
• Engage with external clients, serving as model SME, to drive model access and adoption.
• Serving as SME of model solutions and portfolio construction methodologies, including high fluency around competitive suites of models, POC-built solutions as well as firm-built models.
• Expanding the model OFFERING by coordinating the development of new models types (i.e. tax-managed) which involves market assessment, gathering client demand, model manufacturing optionality, engagement with internal teams such as AQS, CAG, IPM, etc
• Managing small team of Business Development Specialist(s)
Qualifications:
• 10 plus years investment industry experience
• Full fluency of advisory business, securities industry ecosystem, platforms model portfolio offerings
• Deep knowledge of the Broker-Dealer and TAMP space (IBD, FC, RIA, Regionals, Banks)
• Understanding of advisor business models, needs and preferences, including differentiators in UHNW
• Knowledge of multi-asset strategies, mutual fund structure, pricing and industry investment services
• Strong acumen of the markets and array of industry investment services (MFs, SMAs, etc.)
• Affinity towards overseeing and managing large and complex initiatives that span virtually every aspect of CG (sales, marketing, product, investments, legal, compliance, operations, technology)
• Strong track record of effectively managing, motivating and mentoring direct and virtual teams
• Highly-rated experience speaking in front of clients
• FINRA securities licenses, CFA or CFP a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required advance degree preferred
