This position exists to research, collect, analyze and share marketplace insights intelligence information (e.g., products, technology, performance, news updates). The analyses produced in the group are used by management (e.g., Portfolio Management, Business Executives) to review current strategies and evaluate our competition. In addition it is utilized to provide information to the public (e.g., marketing material, shareholders' letter, newsletters) for marketing and regulatory purposes. The individual is in a highly visible, quality control dependent position. Attention to detail, proficiency with statistics, superb organizational skills, and understanding of performance and risk factors in the context of the current market environment is critical.
Description
The Individual Solutions group is seeking a Director of Strategy & Partnerships. This individual will support the strategy development of new products or service offerings to consumers through various go to market approaches. We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful individual who can scan the marketplace, interpret research, and make thoughtful recommendations to drive our business forward. They will be a strategic thinker who can link consumer needs to solutions and identify the optimal partner landscape to deliver differentiated marketplace solutions.
The position will be based in Newark, NJ and the successful candidate will have broad responsibilities, including:
• Partnering with internal teams to understand and co-create product, service or advice solution requirements, go to market customer experience desired, initial deal economic assumptions and preliminary partner ideas
• Lead the marketplace partner scan and company target list based on methodology that enables test & learn ability, differentiated consumer value proposition, ability to scale and regulatory & compliance factors
• Lead pitch development, prospecting strategy, partner pipeline management and strategic negotiation parameter playbook to enable the closure of deals
• Partner internally to ensure negotiated agreement enables desired customer, channel and internal operations experience; including defining Key Performance Indicators, SLAs,
Manage and oversee partner performance and support the re-negotiations, addendums or dissolve strategy & execution
Qualifications
• Strong strategy and influencing skills to enable effective partnering and collaboration
• A minimum of five years of experience in strategy roles – internal or external consulting background
• Ability to operate independently and in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and workload and meet tight deadlines
• Comfort working in a creative, fast paced, ambiguous and demanding environment
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present to a wide range of internal and external audiences
• Experience in agile methodologies
• Procurement and vendor management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with experience developing presentations in Powerpoint
• Understanding of financial services investment, insurance and retirement products, services, distribution and concepts is a plus
• Willing to travel up to 25% of their time
