Purpose of Job
We are currently seeking talented Director, AML Modeling Analytics for our San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL (Crosstown), Addison, TX or Remote facility. Eligible for work at home within the United States
Effectively manages and leads a team who develop and analyze data to predict business results or member behavior. Technically proficient in statistics, mathematics, and tools used in predictive modeling. Partner cross-functionally with business to deliver breakthrough analytical solutions to support a winning strategy in a continually changing business environment.

• Delivers insight to senior leadership on a regular basis.
• Lead the development, enhancement and implementation of statistical and other quantitative models to support loss prediction, assess member value, predict member behavior or financial performance and other business applications.
• Full ownership of the model development process and relationship with the business customer: from conceptualization through data exploration, model selection and validation, implementation, business user training and support.
• Develops and provides subject matter expertise on the current and emerging predictive modeling techniques for various areas within the financial services industry.
• Monitors and understands emerging technology that can affect modeling and potential business risk.
• Researches new internal and external data sources.
• Communicates technical subject matter clearly and concisely to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Educates and coaches peers and business partners to leverage predictive analytical solutions.
• Coordinates with legal counsel to ensure regulatory compliance regarding model design and the acquisition and usage of data for segmentation and modeling purposes.
Minimum Requirements
• 8+ or more years AML experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation statistical analysis and model development OR If a Master's Degree, 6+ or more years AML related experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation statistical analysis and model development OR a PhD in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or related field with AML experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation statistical analysis and model development.
• 5 or more years managerial experience or experience working with cross-functional teams in a leadership capacity.
• Proficiency in key data science, econometric, and/or statistical techniques (for example: predictive modeling, logistic regression, decision trees, data mining methods, and other advanced statistical and econometric techniques).
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or related field or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR A Master's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or related field OR A PhD in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or related field.

Preferred
• 12+ or more years AML experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation statistical analysis and model development.
• Proven experience in one or more industry platforms (i.e. Actimize).
• 4+ years of working with model risk management in the model validation process.
• Proven experience in retail banking organization.
• Active AML Certifications.
• Experience working cross-functionally across key stakeholders for AML Compliance, including the Financial Investigations Unit, AML Technology, Model Risk Management, and Internal Audit.
• Experience determining the impact proposed of scenario changes on system stability, model output, and downstream dependencies.
• Experience helping craft training for key stakeholders on Transaction Monitoring scenarios.
• Proficiency in SQL and standard modelling tools (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Python, R, etc.).
• Experience in conducting and documenting tuning and optimization activities related to Transaction Monitoring models, including data validation, statistical analysis, recommendation of thresholds, and presentation of results.
• Experience in producing and reviewing documentation in a highly regulated environment as well as presenting information to regulators.
***Selected candidates will attend and complete the Management Development School program in San Antonio, TX, during their first six months in position.***
