Workday Configuration Analyst - Chicago
We are seeking talented Workday configuration individuals to join a newly created team to support JLL’s recent rollout of Workday. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help shape the system from the beginning. You’ll work with teammates and business partners across the globe, serving as a Workday subject matter expert to advise on optimal system design and configuration. This role requires a background in Workday Security, Organizations, Business Processes, and Reporting, with expertise in one or more functional areas such as Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, or Absence Management. While the role sits within the Information Technology team, you’ll routinely work alongside HR and should have an understanding of HR subject matter and practices. This role will proactively recommend new features to enable the business and is responsible for configuring new solutions, resolving technically complex Workday requests or issues, ensuring data integrity, system testing, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement.
What this job involves:
• Act as an internal consultant and Workday subject matter expert to fully optimize Workday capabilities
• Build consensus with business partners and stakeholders on process changes, and align with peers on configuration adjustments
• Recommend features for uptake, design and build corresponding configuration, and manage the deployment
• Be an active member on the Workday Community to keep a pulse on new features, product defects, and advocate for needed enhancements
• Develop and execute test plans, including test scenarios and use of automated testing tool (Kainos), to support semi-annual system releases as well as the implementation of additional Workday features and functional areas
• Partner with Release Manager and peers to analyze impact of new versions of Workday and roll out system changes with training and communication support
• Configure and load EIBs to support mass updates
• Build advanced reports and calculated fields to support core processes, ensure data integrity, and assist with HR analytics
• Educate and share Workday knowledge with peers, partners, and employees to empower and enable all Workday users
• Serve as a named support contact to log cases with Workday, or other system vendors, as needed
• Debug and triage system issues and change requests received through internal ticketing system; managing to SLAs and effectively documenting communication and resolution in the ticketing system
• Perform audits to ensure data integrity
• Document processes and procedures as necessary
• Support Workday as it relates to downstream integrations into Finance, Payroll and other HR systems globally
Sound like you? Before you apply it’s worth knowing what we are looking for:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of system experience, with 2+ years of Workday experience
• Ability to connect Workday capabilities to business needs, design and build configuration accordingly
• Fully proficient in Excel – vlookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
• Ability to work independently and perform against tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
• Experience with HR/Finance/Payroll integrations in a product set that includes Workday, PeopleSoft and ADP
• Experience of implementing systems in multiple regions, familiar with a global work environment
• Working knowledge of object-oriented and relational model concept
• Experience working in agile & waterfall software development environments
