Position Overview:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst for ESG Research will work as a member of the Research and ESG Technology Team and become the liaison between the Calvert team and IT. The focus will be supporting the Calvert business and helping driving projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Partner with key stakeholders to analyze business processes and system needs. Document business processes and translate business needs into technology requirements.
• Work with the development team to evaluate solutions and make objective recommendations for process improvements.
• Develop project proposals, justify recommendations with estimated costs and benefits.
• Work with the development team to implement solutions, facilitate user testing and production deployment.
• Act as liaison between the Calvert team in DC and the Research and ESG Technology team in Boston. Provide periodic updates to the team. Facilitate communication between Calvert and IT.
• Serve as resource to senior management, product owners, developers, and other business analysts.
• Collaborate with the rest of the team members to analyze and resolve production system issues, take on ad hoc user requests, analyze data and generate reports.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience as a business analyst working in collaboration with software development.
• Affinity for technical writing and presenting – ability to formally document requirements, reach agreements with others, and explain detailed requirements to others as needed.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in both formal and informal contexts in a fashion tailored for the audience.
• Strong process analysis and problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction and guidance from project lead, consultant staff and manager.
• Highly skilled in incorporating successful interviewing, facilitation, and documentation techniques within a project.
• Strong educational background in an analytical discipline such as Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Practical understanding of relational database design and thorough familiarity with SQL server programming using T-SQL.
• Strong team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent experience
• Five+ years of demonstrated experience in a technical function supporting investment management systems.
• Strong understanding of Investment Data and Investment Management industry, with specific domain expertise in ESG.
• High-level of knowledge, experience and success with writing and reviewing test cases.
• Strong knowledge of business process modeling.
• Some experience in working with ESG data sets and index construction.
