About our intern program:
Our competitive intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird’s summer program activities include an Intern Welcome Event in our corporate office in Milwaukee, multiple Lunch & Learns, a Brewer’s game at Miller Park, Baird Night at the Zoo, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day and be compensated to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for $8,000 in scholarships. Baird’s Operations Department (“Ops”) is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the firm. We partner with the different business and functions within Baird with the goal of driving efficiencies and reducing risk to the firm. We look for highly motivated, detail oriented individuals who are proactive, eager to learn and ready to contribute.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, interns must be flexible to work a minimum of 15-20 daytime hours/week during the spring and fall semesters and 37.5-40 daytime hours/week during breaks and summer. The internship is a minimum of 6 months and can extend up to 2 years dependent on graduation date, workload and intern performance.
As a Business Process Analyst Intern, you will:
• Analyze existing processes with a mentor by the use of workflow analysis, process owner engagement, and code review to create user guides, process specifications and process models.
• Participate in collaboration sessions with business process analysts focused on process improvement, client experience and risk mitigation.
• Completes small projects for the department which may include testing software applications, developing custom solutions, and documentation.
• Experience Baird’s culture by shadowing current team members. Receive mentorship from an experienced team member and partner with a manager on professional development.
• Supporting Business Process Analysts and Continuous Improvement Analysts with project related tasks.
• Gain exposure to a variety of areas at Baird as you assist with different process projects.
What we look for:
• Pursuing a business degree with a concentration in technology.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and Visio is a plus.
• JavaScript, Java, or other programming experience is optimal, but not required.
• Possesses a natural curiosity in understanding the application of technology to solve business problems.
• Positive attitude, proactive in seeking additional work, and strong initiative.
• Detail oriented and exhibits organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
• Self-starter and ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment.
• Written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail
• A 3.3 GPA or better is preferred.
