This role will serve to originate new credit and non-credit opportunities in the Middle Market Technology industry. While there will be a regional coverage focus regarding originations, providing support (marketing and structuring) throughout the entire Commercial Bank across all geographies with a primary focus on California, Washington, and Oregon.
This individual’s main responsibility will consist of originating new business, but they will also help in an advisory capacity to underwrite and structure credit transactions and obtain credit approval. This individual will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching other associates and serving as a senior resource for our Regional Bank. They will work with Middle Market Technology based organizations to present financing and non-credit solutions to meet short and long-term strategic objectives and become a trusted adviser for our clients.
Major Responsibilities:
Business Development
• Cover the full spectrum of middle market technology focused companies for the Regional Bank. Focus on the achievement of new business goals.
• Develop and call on a qualified list of prospects and referral sources with calling activity goals.
• Demonstrate the ability to consistently initiate, advance and close new business opportunities.
• Responsible for cross-selling a wide range of bank products and services to both clients and prospects, including capital markets products.
• Assist marketing efforts of other regional offices by jointly supporting marketing activities and early assistance around structuring options.
• Work with fellow Technology team members updating and refreshing Bank’s Technology business strategy and underwriting guidelines.
• Work with product groups to update and refresh product support and services to the Technology industry.
Financial:
• Contributing towards region's annual new business goal.
• Increasing annual NOI of existing portfolio.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree and 10 to 15 years of commercial banking with Technology coverage experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with both cash flow and asset based financing products.
• Prior Business Development experience and track record.
• Strong sales skills with a proven track record of performance.
• Strong credit skills with a thorough understanding of credit underwriting and structuring.
• Results oriented.
• Outstanding interpersonal and negotiating skills (both internal and external).
• Team player willing to mentor and train junior associates.
