Job Description
Job Summary:
As part of the DRR Centralized Credit Analysis team, under limited supervision performs duties related to the credit review of larger and more complex DRR flagged commercial loans with a focus on financial statement spreading to attain accurate risk ratings. requires standard proficiency with the various risk rating models and scorecards for C&I and CRE loans. May perform financial spreads for prospects not requiring risk ratings. Refers to documented policies and procedures to guide and support the review and risk rating process. Seeks the advice of senior team members on more complex and questionable issues that are outside of the assigned scope. Performs financial and statistical analysis to assist bank personnel in the determination of the clients' credit worthiness while minimizing risk exposure. Prepares analysis, reports and presentations for management review and regulatory reporting. Performs requests according to service level agreements with appropriate use of work flow tools. Ensures all transactions and processes are in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, policies and procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs duties related to the risk rating of commercial manually underwritten loans, with a primary focus on large, complex loans. May continue to assist with financial statement spreading of standard loans. Utilizes independent judgment and decision making authority to make timely and effective decisions, while managing the assessment of complex clients, with equally complex issues. Prioritizes work requests based on a Service Level Agreement hierarchy of importance from new money to renewals to monitoring reports, etc.
• Performs analysis of extensive statistical data & financial statements, sensitivity analysis, guarantor analysis, etc. Utilizes the various scorecards in the Moody's RiskAnalyst application to generate probability of default (PDs) and loss given default (LGDs). Ensures the consistent use of well supported and factual analyses and processes to determine and recommend risk ratings.
• Follows standard operating procedures when preparing analyses, reports, and presentations for management review. Performs accurate spreading of historical financial statements free of repetition; prepares prudent projections, and represents a clear focus on the merits, risks, and mitigating factors accordingly. Ensures each step of the process is in compliance with all company and regulatory guidelines, policies, procedures and methodology. Stays abreast of variations in laws across state boundaries, if applicable.
• Collects "due diligence" materials necessary for credit review and risk rating analysis from bank or credit personnel with customer contact.
• Provides analytical support for developing and maintaining credit studies, financial background information and other relevant data on present and prospective customers. Analyzes present and proposed lending while providing a complete risk rating analysis.
• Executes ongoing monitoring of risk rating related reports including DRR exceptions and work flow volumes. May prepare validations of DRR results on an as needed basis for internal and external auditors/examiners. Assists with the development and maintenance of management reporting systems, both manual and automated, that provide an accurate and readily available reference library of loan portfolios, clients current and historical data, reports, etc. Ensures all support documentation, both prepared and submitted, are in compliance and retained in accordance with the company's records retention policy.
• May provide assistance to senior team members for complex and diverse portfolios.
• May assist in the training of new hires within the DRR Credit Analysis group.
• May be required to prepare and present reports in various committees and councils.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.
