Business Unit/Global Function Description
Ally Financial's Insurance function manages a full range of aftermarket vehicle protection products available to consumers, including vehicle service contracts and other ancillary F&I products. The function strives to identify market needs and introduce products to address those needs while protecting the company's financial returns.
Position Description
The Ally Insurance Portfolio Optimization & Risk Monitoring team is responsible for account specific profit and loss optimization; key risk metric identification, tracking and escalation; and portfolio economic projections. This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to analyze and identify insurance risk, as well as to collaborate on projects with Products, Operations, Risk and other departments.
The analyst will have the opportunity to participate in the Actuarial Study Program, which provides support for participants to progress through the CAS actuarial exams. Participation is not mandatory
Job Responsibilities
• Support account specific experience reviews and rate modification process
• Support the identification, tracking and reporting / escalation of key risk metrics associated with insurance programs
• Support and / or provide portfolio updates to Insurance Senior Leadership
• Support the management of Actuarial data sources
• Respond to and provide support for internal and external customers
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics or related field
• Statistical and/or computer programming background preferred
• SAS familiarity
• Strong skills in MS Excel, Access and Powerpoint
• Experience with database/spreadsheet model usage and organization is a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate highly technical topics, both verbally and written
• High level of problem solving capability
• Well-organized and detail-oriented work ethic
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
