Responsibilities
• Growing and managing a high volume sales pipeline
• Track prospect contact and sales conversion analytics
• Explain Baker Tilly services to potential customers
• Handle prospect questions and objections
• Creation of target lists - through research, obtain prospect information including names and addresses and other contact information
• Schedule appointments for Practice Leader, Team Leaders/Partners to meet prospective customers
• Follow-up marketing campaigns or events via phone or email
• Attend networks events
• Monitors and evaluates regional activities for announcements related to new projects, state legislation affecting, or industry events that affect the Privacy or Cybersecurity industry
• Actively identify and qualify likely leads which require formal firm follow up
• Directs channel development activity to appropriate team leaders for additional follow up
• Is able to work with BT staff to analyze target areas of interest for development and effectively prioritize and plan the best approach to the market area
• Actively identify and participate in state, local, or industry related trade groups
• Works to further develop existing client relationships for other service area in identified regions
• Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
• Gather competitive intelligence and knowledge surrounding industry trends, share insights with client services, marketing and sales
• Promote to the identified audiences on the full range of Baker Tilly service offerings while in the development process
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• 10-20 years of experience in sales/business development required
• Proven track record of building pipeline and closing business required
• Industry background and connections in either technology/SaaS, manufacturing/disruption, real estate/construction, higher education, or financial services required
• Experience selling privacy or cybersecurity services to middle market clients strongly preferred
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills required
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-up skills required
• Able to attend occasional after hour networking events
• Able to lead and direct his/her own work
• Ability to travel 50-80% as needed
• Location is flexible (preferred: DC, NJ/NYC, Chicago, Boston, or Houston)
