About the Ignite team:
We are a small, growing team within the Distribution Strategy & Operations Support org at Safeco. Over the last two years we have tested, developed, and launched an agent-facing loyalty and rewards program (Safeco Ignite) for the ~100k people we do business with across ~25k insurance agency partners. As part of rolling out the Ignite program nationally we invested in foundational technology that serves as the backbone for future strategic initiatives; this technology provides us with powerful tools to personalize and target our content and messaging, as well as deploy benefits (rewards, marketing tools, and service & support programs) at scale.
Your role:
We have a number of concepts we would like to develop, pilot, and scale to agents through the Ignite program. You will assess vendors, scope capabilities, and bring pilot concepts to life through a mix of internal and external resources. Working with our analytics team, you will then lead the charge to scale successful pilots.
Example work includes:
• Owning a cross-functional effort to develop and maintain a pilot road map; increasing our speed-to-market
• Investigating world-class tools and methods to solve the business needs of our agent partners; example business needs include: How do I find top talent for my agency? What sustainable sources of new business leads exist to fuel growth in my agency? How do I maximize the value of my agency?
• Identifying and securing resources to successfully execute pilots; these could include marketing support (campaign design, UX, content), technology (data, personalization), or other areas
This role is ideal for those who are:
• Curious, inquisitive – you will be charting undefined territory
• Able to thrive in a cross-functional environment and possess the right mix of poise, intellect, and energy to inspire confidence and move a pilot forward
• Quick to adapt and navigate around budget, time, and resource constraints as needed
• Capable of failing fast and pivoting
• Passionate about championing new ideas, innovation, and transformative thinking
• Not afraid to roll up their sleeves
Responsibilities:
• Lead cross-functional efforts with program, marketing, analytics, and technology teams to bring pilot concepts to life in a timely manner and on budget
• Support business and technology teams to define, design, architect, implement and operate pilot concepts
• Evaluate vendor solutions and monitor performance
• Contributes to broader team efforts to enhance the Ignite experience for agents and the field sales team
• Weigh technical complexity vs. business benefit, prioritize implementation and improve solution incrementally after launch
• Regularly share project status, escalate issues, and develop mitigation plans as needed with Director and Executive Leadership Team
Qualifications:
• 5 – 8+ years of relevant experience (project / program management, marketing, consulting, business case development, familiarity with channel sales environment, insurance or financial services industry experience)
• Top notch storyteller and communicator. Excellent interpersonal / soft skills
• High degree of adaptability and previous experience using influence / persuasion skills in a matrixed environment
• Passion for world-class technology and an ability to inspire others
• Bachelors degree in business or communications, Masters a plus
