Job Description
This job is responsible for the auditing and reporting of residential and consumer files for adherence to regulatory & procedural guidelines and the preparation of management reports of results including the identification of potential risks and recommended remediation. This position has a direct impact on operational risk in that files are soundly structured with minimizing financial, compliance and legal risk.
Complete audit of file documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal operational procedures with a strong focus on HMDA, PMI, CIPS, TRID, REG. Z.
Reviews documents for accuracy and compliance with regulatory, bank policies, and investor policies and procedures.
Assess breakdowns for compliance risk and provides guidance on remediation in conjunction with corporate compliance.
Performs risk based reviews of business line controls and identifies potential risks.
Participate in special projects as requested by management.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 or more years work experience and knowledge in mortgage lending or compliance.
Detailed knowledge of State and Federal banking compliance regulations and related Bank policies to include HMDA, PMI, CIPS, TRID and Reg. Z.
Strong written and verbal skills are needed to communicate in a professional and courteous manner and the ability to convey moderately complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Comprehensive understanding of loan documentation. Strong analytical and math skills.
Effective PC skills including word processing, internal and industry standard systems. Ability to learn to use additional applications as needed.
Working knowledge of or the ability to gain working knowledge of, state and federal regulations related to mortgage lending.
Ability to work well with a team.
