The Sales Analyst is a key role in the organization with a charter for assisting the sales team in maintaining accurate sales records and developing business insights through data analytics. The position is responsible for performing both recurring and ad hoc analyses on the sales pipeline, client base and competitive market. The role is critical to helping management with the information and analyses necessary to making key business decisions. The Sales Analyst reports to the Senior Manager of Sales Operations with dotted line responsibilities to the SVP of Sales, and also enjoys extensive exposure to senior management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage analysis of projects in support of strategic initiatives and goals.
• Collect, analyze, evaluate and report on data related to sales performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyse clients and markets to identify potential sales opportunities and threats.
• Develop business cases and pro forma analysis for new initiatives being contemplated.
• Work closely with Sales Management to create the monthly bookings forecast.
• Prepare presentation materials for monthly operating meetings and business initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills are required.
• Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics CRM knowledge or other Sales Automation platform experience is preferred.
• Microsoft Access knowledge is beneficial.
• Tableau or other Visual Analytics experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE
• 3 to 5 years in Sales Operations, Financial Analysis, Marketing Analysis or Sales Analysis required.
• Knowledge of financial software markets and competitors preferred.
EDUCATION
/ CERTIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics.
• Masters in Business Administration preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to receive, express, or exchange detailed information through oral and written communication.
• Ability to see and operate a computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of weight (laptop, projector, suitcase, etc.).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work is performed in a general office environment.
• Some travel required.
