The Business Development Manager is responsible for helping to shape and deliver on our overall competitive strategy through ownership of pipeline aligned across our Lending and Mortgage line of business. You will drive competitive strategy, identifying existing programs and resources and developing new programs where gaps exist. You will drive execution across Sales, Marketing and Product Management. You will represent Lending and Mortgage sales leadership in management meetings with Finastra Sales Leadership and the CEO. This individual will be business and sales minded, collaborative, entrepreneurial and will thrive in a high energy work environment. Must have excellent written and presentation skills, be well-versed in developing PowerPoint's and other sales tools, and have a good understanding of solution selling and various sales methodologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Achieve agreed level of pipeline coverage across Lines of Business on a rolling basis.
• Ensure pipeline matures appropriately.
• Ensure opportunities are up-to-date in Salesforce.com (SFDC), with appropriate Next Steps.
• Proactively report on the health of the business and your campaign teams.
• Collaborate with, and leverage the expertise of, Sales Executives, Global Sales Specialists (GSS), Business Solutions Group (BSG), Field Marketing, Solution Marketing, Partners Team.
• Secure the buy-in of multiple stakeholders.
• Understand and continually enhance your knowledge of the markets we operate in and their changing dynamics.
• Develop an understanding of our competitive positioning and of our competitors’ strategies.
• Develop expertise in SFDC to manipulate data, report on our business and work with contacts.
• Effectively chair setup and review meetings with campaign teams, always driving action and creating value.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and writing skills.
• Record of successfully driving teams of multiple stakeholders to the achievement of measurable outcomes.
• Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial high-growth culture.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the complex business and technical needs of customers.
• Proven ability to present compellingly in English at a minimum.
• Experience attaining internal buy-in and securing commitments from stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness, excellent client facing and interpersonal/communication skills.
EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience.
• Working experience ideally within Mortgage, Consumer or Commercial Lending or Risk.
• Prefered 3+ years of management work experience.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Engineering, Banking and/or equivalent on-the-job experience at a financial institution or consulting firm.
• Master’s degree preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to express or exchange information by means of oral and written communication.
• Manual dexterity to input data into the computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of weight (laptop, projector, suitcase, etc.).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Frequent travel required. May require weekend travel. May require international travel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work is performed in a general office environment.
• Position involves face to face meetings, telephone, and computer interactions.
