Profile Summary
As a key member of the Finance Team, this strategic role will provide financial counsel on expenses in business with bias towards recommending actions to improve value and results within the Individual Life Segment and Legacy Annuities to Functional Leaders, Finance and Accounting and to the Individual Life Executive Leadership team
Profile Responsibility
• Identify and lead strategic cost saving initiatives at an enterprise level that complement existing business strategies.
• Perform financial analysis to target and identify addressable cost bases.
• Examine expense improvement levers which complement existing business and shared service strategies within the organization.
• Champion enterprise save initiatives with various stakeholders and ensure transparent and timely communication
• Develop supporting Cost & Benefit Analysis for initiatives
• Prepares and reviews communications and materials for executive level audience.
Outside of expense focused responsibilities the role aligns with business departments on key business initiatives and become a trusted partner that advises business unit on financial implications of key initiatives both being recommended as well as those already in flight.
Knowledge & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Cost Accounting
• Total of 7-10 years of prior work experience within financial services organization
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and still meet required deadlines.
• Creative, “out of the box” thinker that is not afraid to challenge the status quo
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with other departments. Must be able to communicate and influence decisions across all levels within the enterprise.
• A self-starter, self-motivated, self-disciplined and performance driven
• Solid technical and analytical skills with attention to detail combined with creativity, common sense and good judgment.
• Strong Leadership and analytical skills
• Prior work experience leading strategic project/programs and/or auditing a plus
