Director of Operations is responsible for streamlining processes and ensuring stability of operations, developing a culture of process improvement, and proper documentation. It is focused on anticipating issues, solving problems and driving improvement through collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams. This role will create and own the plan for forward-looking capacity planning including end of life systems by aligning with business and development teams on the demand forecast, engineering assumptions and data center capacity.
The Director of Operations will work with key leaders to develop the Enterprise Architecture and Security review board to ensure that the solutions are compliant with target-state architecture models and align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with technology and development leaders on the delivery of technology, process & organizational changes
• Demonstrate expertise in helping teams improve the responsiveness, agility and cost-effectiveness of their IT organizations and drive overall business performance
• Analyze work processes, systems, organizational functions and structures using interviews, data, statistical analysis and techniques to determine where and how to generate measurable benefits
• Management of tools and vendor relationships related to technology operations and development stacks
• Works with business leaders to define, develop, and maintain governance of enterprise architecture across the organization and building of the 1-3 year technology strategic plan
• Works with senior leadership to approve allocation of budget to meet architectural initiatives critical to business/mission success
• Works closely with IT leadership to ensure on-going focus on reusability, scalability, and enterprise-wide solutions, to maximize returns on the suite of products
Skills
• Broad understanding of technology, product and development concepts
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to set work direction at an operational level, work autonomously and collaborate with other business or technology leaders to establish and execute on common goals with a medium- to longer-term business perspective
• Showcase exceptional analytical, interpersonal and creative-thinking skills
• Demonstrated strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to all audiences, ranging from non-technical people to executive level technical decision-makers
Knowledge Preferred
• Experience in an Agile environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Familiarity with ITIL and service management best practices and leading platforms (such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy)
• Have a strong technical background with a solid knowledge and understanding of IT architecture, engineering and operations, ITIL, IT strategy, governance, processes, IT organization design, business cases and financial management
• Undergraduate degree; graduate degree or MBA a plus
• Six Sigma and/or ITIL training
