THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Business Development / Sales Assistant will manage the business development and sales assistant functions for growth and retention. The business development functions have responsibility for executing relationship building and lead generation primarily in the San Diego community. The executive assistant function serves as the secondary point of contact for internal and external constituencies to support the largest producer’s book of business at HUB San Diego.
Business Development/Networking & Community Relations Responsibilities:
◦ Identify prospective clients, key contacts, research organizations, manage CRM, establish pipeline, develop strategy for connectivity and relationship building, and obtain appointments with these prospective clients through means of networking, cold calling, or referrals
◦ Set 4 - 6 appointments/month with qualified groups possessing greater than 100 employees
◦ Have the ability to hold a discovery meeting to learn more about the prospective client’s needs
◦ Communicate value proposition effectively with differentiators to create new opportunities
◦ Develop and deploy marketing strategies
◦ Organize events for clients and prospective clients
◦ Attend industry organizations, committee participation &/or Board involvement including HUB San Diego sponsored events
◦ Identify and develop relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) then manage/direct their activities
◦ Ensure management and HUB are represented at networking events, conferences, conventions, and industry award events
Sales Administrative Responsibilities:
◦ Sales support for local producer
◦ calendar / appointments / events for local producer and outside parties (clients, prospective clients, COIs, etc.)
◦ Ensure that meeting prep work, materials, and paperwork is in order for client and prospect meetings
◦ Itineraries / agendas / webinars / conference calls
◦ Expense / production to budget reports
◦ Client & prospect research with specific and proactive outreach
◦ Presentation development & execution
◦ Maintain business management systems, tracking and managing activities & progress
◦ Assist in development and achievement of revenue goals and marketing budgets
◦ Maintain and update all social media outlets
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
• Strong local HR network and relationships is preferred
• Strong communication skills and professional appearance is a must
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and PPT - Adobe is preferred
• High school diploma or GED - college degree strongly preferred
• 3-5 years of related experience within the HR and Benefits arena
• CA Life Agent license must be obtained immediately after hiring
