Responsibilities
The Treasury Department of CIBC US is responsible for managing CIBC’s U.S. liquidity and funding strategy of the Bank. The Treasury Reporting Officer will work on liquidity management reporting with Treasury personnel and key stakeholders through the U.S. Region to implement and execute processes and reporting for CIBC and its U.S. subsidiaries. Treasury prepares, reviews and analyzes financial information to produce Management reports and meet U.S. regulatory requirements, including liquidity reporting requirements, such as FR 2052a. The Treasury Reporting Officer role will have responsibilities primarily for the preparation, review, and continued execution of the FR 2052a Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report, for which monthly filings will begin in 2018.
Other responsibilities include:
• Ensuring report compliance with Federal Reserve and other regulatory reporting requirements, the Company’s internal review procedures and all other applicable policies and procedures.
• Working closely with local Subject Matter Experts to refine the data and leverage additional uses across the Treasury Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management Framework
• Serving as the first line of defense to inquiries from the Federal Reserve, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and other key stakeholders for FR 2052a
• Supporting projects to transform and improve the FR 2052a process, including collaborating with Data Management and IT on key automation initiatives and enhancing policies and procedures around the regulatory reporting process.
• Driving review of monthly FR 2052a report analytics to determine anomalies and enhance analytics as the reporting matures
• Providing thought leadership to the automation of FR 2052a preparation process and its alignment with related Treasury liquidity calculations.
Qualifications
• At least 5+ years' experience in Treasury or Accounting/Reporting. Prior experience with U.S. regulatory reporting or Basel III Liquidity Risk Management reporting
• Bachelor or advanced degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA is a plus
• Excellent PC skills (MS Office: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills preferred
• Strong candidates will preferably have prior FR 2052a or U.S. LCR experience
• Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal)
• Able to understand and enhance the control environment around the filings
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Quick learner.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, methodical and responsive
• Ability to work independently
