POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion will have an appreciation for inherent and acquired diversity and will have a proven track record of leading D&I strategy from early stages of development to execution.
The VP, D&I will report to the SVP, Office of Corporate Responsibility and Diversity & Inclusion and oversee the strategy and execution of the company’s internal and external programs, initiatives and partnerships which aim to increase the company’s performance in the areas of talent attraction, development and retention; community engagement; client acquisition; supplier diversity and economic empowerment; and leadership and guidance in the realm of regulatory and policy compliance. The VP will have primary responsibility for continuing to build the company’s position as a leader within D&I and ensure our performance and progress is communicated effectively internally and externally. This leader will influence at the C-suite level and partner with business and functional leaders to enable Voya to become a world-class leader in all facets of D&I.
PROFILE DESCRIPTION
• Lead the continual evolvement of strategy for an aggressive D&I programs and initiatives aimed at achieving world-class D&I performance.
• Set clear objectives, goals, deliverables and report progress and performance quarterly to Executive Committee.
• Understand and evaluate key data sources and work closely with HR Operations at Voya and external resources to analyze our D&I data and performance.
• Develop D&I results-oriented programs focused on continually improving Voya’s high-performing culture focus in support of HR and business strategic priorities.
• Partner with head of staffing and Talent Acquisition to ensure alignment of D&I recruitment strategies.
• Develop innovative approaches and experiential training and development to develop capabilities and empower Voya employees in D&I.
• Lead and provide strategic guidance for Employee Resource Groups to include governance, leadership appointment, budget allocation. Importantly, ensure ERGs align with Voya’s mission to be America’s Retirement company.
• Work closely with business and functional leaders to develop detailed strategies and plans that focus on employee, marketplace and community initiatives that will increase performance and competitiveness.
• Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders that align with Voya’s corporate values and D&I objectives, including nonprofit organizations.
• Expertise developing relationships with organizations which focus on People with Special Needs highly desirable.
• Provide messaging, data and resources to RFP teams, sales teams and other business leaders to drive client acquisition and retention; participation in presentations as appropriate.
• Develop a supplier diversity program in partnership with Procurement with clear objectives, metrics and deliverables.
• Recommend strategic partnerships and charitable sponsorships to further D&I objectives.
• Stay abreast of regulatory and legislative requirements to ensure compliance and to raise awareness of potential changes which will influence the business.
• Develop policy and governance standards for diversity and inclusion that are consistent with Voya’s values and principles, U.S. legislative/regulatory requirements and align with our business priorities.
• Responsible for the overall thought leadership and communications plan for D&I in partnership with the Corporate Communications team.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of general HR or business experience with 5+ years in D&I.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal EEO/AAP/ABLE Act compliance.
• Proven ability to create successful processes and share strategy with senior teams.
• Demonstrated passion for diversity and inclusion, and an ability to inspire and engage others.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to follow-through and meet deadlines effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong leadership, management and project management skills.
• Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Experience developing and /or fostering partnerships, particularly with nonprofits and industry associations
• Results-oriented, ideally with a mix of strategic business skills and a passion for social change.
