What You'll Do/Need
The Assistant Operations Manager ensures that our customers, the committed athletes, receive the best protective gear, on time, that meets the exacting standards designed by our product innovation team. The Assistant Operations Manager develops and leads projects and plant operations leaders and team members in all aspects of the manufacturing supply chain.
Responsibilities
• Establish objectives and communicate objectives to the manufacturing operations team
• Develop staffing plans to support sales forecasts
• Ensure production plans are met and customer orders are produced to meet delivery commitments
• Define performance metrics to identify, track and implement performance improvement opportunities
• Direct team members to assignments according to production needs, performing time and attendance procedures to make sure people are paid
• Ensure team members are adequately trained, and records are maintained to make sure that the team members know how to be successful in a dynamic environment
• Lead shipping and receiving activities for the production operation
• Instruct and train material handlers regarding day-to-day shipping and receiving activities, inventory control, safety and maintenance matters
• Ensure inventory is maintained, and transactions are accurate
• Work with the Product Development team to define manufacturing processes for new products and lead or support activities to implement new equipment and processes
• Coordinate facility events and other related activities with other divisions within the company to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness
• Assist in facility upgrades and coordinate with contractors when necessary
• Enforce company policies and safety guidelines
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of production operations leadership experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Proactive team player that is well organized and able to prioritize critical tasks
• Ability to multitask and be flexible during times of change
