Jackson Hewitt is looking for a high performing Director of Innovation and Business Development who will be responsible for building a new business pipeline, sourcing, closing and incubating new business lines that will generate brand new revenue streams for the company. The individual will be a critical member of the business development function in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment and will be a key resource in accelerating company growth with frequent exposure and access to executive leadership.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop the new business pipeline as part of the short term and long term strategic plans
• Analyze and synthesize data to identify most effective opportunities based on customer insights, profitability, time to market, and other criteria
• Lead key phases of business development activities from sourcing new business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals
• Lead aspects of incubating and operationalizing new businesses until they are sustainable
• Help drive cross functional coordination and support for new business development initiatives
• Regularly support executive leadership updates around business development efforts
Education/Experience:
• 7+ years of relevant experience; experience with consumer financial services or retail a plus; Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
• Superior critical thinking skills, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong business development tool kit, including ability to source new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and help incubate new businesses
• Enthusiastic about operating in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and being self-directed
• Strong communication skills, particularly in translating complex issues into actionable items
• Deep intellectual curiosity and strong drive to challenge the status quo
