Job Description
The Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned technical projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. They are responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of technical projects with greater than $1 million in I.S. five year costs, span multiple business units, are multi-year in duration, and span the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities
At Comerica, the Scrum framework and XP development practices are leveraged to facilitate custom application development projects. The Senior Project Manager job is the ScrumMaster, but also has traditional project management responsibilities. The incumbent is expected to contribute to the team where necessary to meet goals. The incumbent must bring a servant leadership style with the ability to keep the customer and teams' needs ahead of their own.
ScrumMaster Responsibilities:
• Ensures Scrum is understood and enacted.
• Ensures the Development Team is fully functional and productive.
• Enables close collaboration across all roles and functions.
• Removes impediments to the Development Team's progress.
• Shields the Development Team from external interference.
• Teaches and drives Scrum values and practices.
Contributes to Development Team as a tester, or analyst.
Facilitates Scrum meetings as needed.
Coaches development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
Works with other ScrumMasters to increase the effectiveness of Agile practices.
Coaches organization in its Agile adoption.
Project Management Responsibilities:
• Along with Development Team, takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
• Project tracking, analysis and reporting.
• Manages risks and issues; this includes tracking, mitigating, resolving
• Communicates effectively with Stakeholders
• Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
• Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
• Plans, executes and closes projects
• Manages project time, cost, scope and quality
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years IT experience or High School Diploma or GED and 14 years IT experience
• 6 years of technical project management and supervisory experience, including technical project leadership on large projects with cross-functional teams
• 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master. CSM certification is desired
• 2 years effectively executing concurrent projects of varying size, cost, technologies, complexity and risk
• 6 years' experience with project management and resource planning tools building and executing actionable plans
• 6 years' experience with IS development and support methodologies
