We are now looking for strong customer service representatives to join our Life Claims Processing team.
The Life Claims Representative ("Representative") handles processing of non-contestable claims (claims outside of 2 year contestability period). Under the direction of their manager, they will be responsible to approve or deny claims up to $1million, including adverse situations and accidental death benefit claims. Although there are guidelines to assist with processing claims, the Representative will also need to utilize past experiences as well as best practices to independently make sound claims decisions. They will need to understand how to manually calculate the death benefit in order to handle various variances which may result from a report of death.
Responsibilities
• The Representative will develop the skills to be responsible for analyzing Life death claims.
• The Representative will review documents and information gathered at the point of call and make sound decisions based on knowledge, training and experience.
• The Representative will prepare well written communications to beneficiaries, representatives, internal counsel and senior management.
• The Representative may be required to handle inbound calls related to traditional life and annuity death claims as well as waiver of premium claims providing a low customer effort experience while maintaining empathy when dealing with our beneficiaries or their representatives.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an excellent attention to detail is a must as the Representative will be required to navigate through numerous applications to complete their work and handle phone calls efficiently.
Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred (High school diploma or GED required)
• Strong PC skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook with the ability to navigate multiple applications during call handling
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with attention to detail
• Strong accountability and customer service skills to provide exceptional service
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent soft skills with professional demeanor for all interactions with clients and agents
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Must be willing to work 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Training & Development
Claims Representatives undergo a comprehensive paid on-site training program to learn about the insurance industry, product and policy provisions and transaction processing. Coaching and feedback is provided to help you gain the necessary skills to be successful.
Shift Information
The starting base salary for this position is $40,000 annually. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday. Candidates should be flexible to work any 7.5-hour shift between 8:00am – 6:15pm during the work week.
Salary
We offer a competitive full-time hourly wage, plus overtime eligibility and annual target bonus.
