POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Specialist will fulfill audit requests and present requested documentation to clients and external examiners, assist supervisor with team assignments, reporting, client calls and will act as a leader on the team. The Senior Specialist will be involved in high priority audits and requests while acting as a liaison between exam support, the business units and CERT
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Compile accurate files / responses for examination requests
• Collaborate with employees in multiple Mortgage Servicing functions to identify data, loan file support, and create accurate and timely responses to exam requests
• Utilize web technology as a repository and centralized communication point to efficiently gather needed data
• Offer opposing views in relation to business and compliance conflicts and present in a professional manner
• Identify best practices /desired methods to prepare a file to be disseminated to external bodies (i.e., regulators, GSEs/investors, clients, etc.) and adhere file prep to those standards
• Ensure a thorough understanding of the Mortgage Servicing life cycle so exam requests are responded to in a proficient manner
• Proactively identify subject matter experts / ongoing points of contact to use as a resource to validate requested information
• Continually evaluate / update requests and timing on the exam calendar to ensure the business can compile the information needed to meet exam requests
• Maintain open communications with the various business units to set the expectations and report on recurring and/or critical findings
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on testing, tracking and reporting issues.
• Provide open items reporting to leadership and Business Units to assist in Pipeline control
• Handle high profile audits/exams and provide status updates to Leadership
• Participate in Client meetings which are in relation to Exam Support requests
• Help to prepare Business units for meetings in relation to Exam Support requests
• Monitors Exam Support Queue and assigns requests to Team Players
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the mortgage industry is required
• Two (2) prior years of experience in mortgage Servicing
• Experience with audit, quality assurance/quality control, including experience across operational, financial and compliance review
• Experience with consent orders and other regulatory, investor and legal guidelines

TRAINING / LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
• Must pass PHH Corporation’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
