SUMMARY
Elavon provides end-to-end payment processing services to merchants and financial institutions in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and throughout Europe. Elavon is seeking a Director of Product Management - Payment Security who can lead the future product strategy across an increasingly complex payment landscape. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical, business, and product skills combined with a high bias for action. As technical product owner, this candidate will oversee the evaluation of market trends, product lifecycle, product positioning, and maintain accountability for product profit and growth goals. Identify areas of opportunity and champion new features to the product line that will optimize sales opportunities, meet organization objectives for Elavon’s security solutions, and enhance the customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Document business case for new solutions and enhancements, define product strategy and manage roadmap, work with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class secure payments experience and create compelling external messaging, coordinate go-to-market efforts with commercial product owner for new releases and create and maintain competitive/industry intelligence knowledge base
Working independently manages product managers and project team responsible for the most complex and technologically driven products with the largest market demand deemed as very important to the organization. Operates at a highly independent level, consulting with and advising management on the marketing implications of various actions. Generally manages a staff of one to five direct reports, one to five indirect reports and a project staff of one to five. Oversees the development of short and long-term goals to meet product objectives and the implementation of appropriate long term strategic plans and presents them to management. Independently manages business requirements and guides staff in assessing impact of major issues and determining appropriate action plans for products that have high profit potential and are the most critical to the success of the business.
Directly and/or through subordinates, oversees the strategic product management for an assigned product lines in support of the organization’s goals and market needs. Responsible for meeting product profit and growth goals. Oversees the evaluation of market trends, product development, product position and pricing philosophy. Recommends enhancements to product lines to stimulate sales and meet objectives. Additional responsibilities include:
• Develops marketing plan and product line objectives; including strategy and tactics; ensuring consistency with organization and business line objectives and goals and meeting product profit and growth goals.
• Manages design, development, implementation and enhancement of new or existing products supporting organization and business line objectives.
• Manages the development of product pricing and profitability analysis and recommends pricing.
• Manages the development and maintenance of competitive analysis and market research of competing products and services to identify customer needs and trends.
• Manages the on-going research to track, monitor and analyze product performance, profitability and contribution.
• Manages the development of collateral material, advertising, promotional programs, sales training programs, operational procedures and systems requirements to ensure that sales departments are provided with appropriate sales, merchandising and administrative tools.
• Reviews strategic product and market perspectives; evaluating long term effects and anticipating changes.
• Reviews risk data related to product lines and ensures risks are effectively monitored and managed.
• Ensures products meet state and Federal regulatory requirements and coordinates legal re-view of all supporting collateral materials and documentation.
• Plans, develops and controls project/product budget.
• May recommend hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews. Approves employee time records, work assignments, vacations, sick pay, etc. Implements and executes employee relations policies, training programs and various other human resources programs and policies.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Comprehensive to expert knowledge of the assigned business line and technical marketing skills.
• Strong product management, design and development skills.
• Strong knowledge of product/program development, pricing, implementation and strategic analysis.
• Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated marketing and marketing research skills.
• Thorough knowledge of competitive market, operations and various products and services within assigned area.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
• Strong financial and competitive analysis and PC skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
PREFERRED
• Master’s degree or advanced technical degree.
• In-depth payments knowledge focusing on client-side framework.
• Experience defining & implementing enterprise APIs.
• Agile product development - Managerial experience is highly desired.
