Summary of Responsibilities:
SHUSA's Finance Governance & Control Infrastructure Group is responsible for the implementation of the 3LoD within Finance, end to end oversight of MR(I)A and IA findings remediation process in order to facilitate timely and sustainable closure, standardization of policies and procedures as well as implementation of the Business Control Officer function in order to increase operational control capabilities in the 1st line.
Essential Functions:
• Aggregate risks into a holistic business line portfolio for further aggregation into a division view; challenge/ensure completeness of work within Risk teams, as well as business line by providing coaching and motivation of others to reach goals.
• The incumbent will have a defined level of authority to negotiate with business to alter processes or quality execution designs; track agreed actions and correct with business.
• Consult with management regarding risks, exposures or control profiles and maintain contact with 2nd Line of Defense (ORM, ERM, SOX, and Compliance) peers to help define communications of risk culture / tolerances.
• Assist in management of reporting requests for Finance IA recommendations.
• Participate and/or consult on risk management exercises either sponsored by 2nd Line of Defense or within business lines risk programs.
• Responsible for various activities relating to risk management performance; works to identify, assess and action various risks by executing defined risk programs.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to drive risk program forward, facilitating changes where appropriate, within a managed authority; identify risk event root causes and influence corrections to reduce risk.
• Review identified risks and negotiate actions with business lines; implement quality controls/processes and determine resolution steps for quality issue, escalate and report as required.
• Ensure that the appropriate internal risk training is being provided to the business lines and influence the correction of deficiencies.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years business experience, general risk functions or demonstrate ability to perform a proficient level of competence to meet duties
• Knowlege of Business & Financial Planning, Information & Data Management
• Excellent judgement & decision making skills
• Good qualitative & analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Regulatory Knowledge & Application
• Risk Management & Control
