Position Summary
PGIM Investments is evolving its distribution, marketing, digital, and customer experience efforts to have greater reach and impact with both their internal and external clients. As such, we are seeking a transformational business leader and marketing executive to join a dynamic team as Head of Global Marketing Services.
Reporting into the Global Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Global Marketing Services will work across all business segments and corporate functions within PGIM Investments. They will lead a marketing services team responsible for enterprise marketing services including Internal Agency, Client and Market Insights, events, and general management of Marketing Operations. This professional will work closely with the Global CMO as well as leads of Channel and Product Marketing and other key stakeholders to develop and lead the implementation of marketing plans to support specific business goals and increase the effectiveness and timeliness with which they reach internal and external clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming the marketing delivery capabilities of the firm to include driving innovation, upgrading digital delivery capabilities and resources, and developing and cultivating strong communication and working relationships across teams and business units. This professional will shape and enable marketing campaigns, communications (digital, print, and social media), investment-related and customer-oriented initiatives, product launches and publications to align and deliver on the interests and needs of internal business segments and external clients.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Managing a team of professionals, primarily located within the U.S. Implement programs to develop and cultivate top talent, provide training, and build a team that is forward-thinking, striving for excellence and capable of transitioning PGIM’s Investment’s marketing delivery capabilities to provide cutting edge, digitally-oriented products and offerings that drive results.
• Serving as a strategic leader who can establish the vision, drive organizational change, and foster a results-oriented, collaborative culture where both accountability and innovation are embedded within the team’s daily activities.
• Elevate the quality, volume and scope of the end-to-end services provided by the global marketing team and outside resources to the business units. Effectively lead the teams on execution while providing high level strategic counsel to firm leaders and enterprise marketing professionals. Focus on continuous improvement of skills and disciplines while also driving results and accountability across the marketing segments.
• Drive efficiencies, streamline processes using automation and technology as necessary across the business and impact the effectiveness of messaging, marketing strategies, and content distributed to improve the overall customer experience.
• Foster collaboration and clear and frequent communication across PGIM Investment’s business segments, corporate functions and various enterprise marketing functions.
• Drive decision-making through influencing and building consensus while considering others’ views and ideas; build working relationships, operate with accountability, and develop buy-in to drive strategies and projects to completion.
• Manage budgets for media, digital production, events and marketing technology. Determine how best to deploy this capital by considering investments in new technology, vendor and agency management and partnerships, etc.
• Create and implement best-in-class marketing delivery capabilities, processes and procedures, with an awareness of the firm’s current resources and recognizing and executing on opportunities for investment, growth, change, and expansion.
• Manage all third-party relationships with agencies and vendors. Focus on identifying preferred providers in order to streamline processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and deliver consistent, flawless and timely execution for both internal and external campaigns and deliverables.
• Partner with Marketing and Sales Leadership to develop innovative and effective marketing strategies and plans that achieve business goals, support the firm’s brand positioning, and positively and authentically differentiate the firm from its competitors.
• Leverage knowledge of the asset management industry and how PGIM Investments is positioned relative to peers/competitors in the market to influence and differentiate the way in which messages are crafted, information is positioning and disseminated, and the methods used to reach clients across multiple distribution points.
• Given the focus on financial advisors, fund selectors and analysts, position mutual funds, investment performance, product information, and other investment-related content in a manner compliant with the regulatory requirements in the asset management industry.
• Lead the development of substantive and compelling presentations; oral, written, video/web, thought pieces, client insights, and differentiated materials.
Qualifications
• 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role overseeing high performing marketing services and delivery teams.
• Experience leading a marketing function that delivers content and produces thought leadership, marketing and communications in adherence with the regulations and compliance standards of the asset management industry.
• Prior experience within an asset management firm, investment bank, commercial bank, consumer financial institution, or other best-in-class financial services organization.
• Working knowledge of mutual funds, subadvisory services, separate managed accounts UCITS, ETFs and related services for multiple client types.
• Prior experience managing a marketing services team or business unit and demonstrated capability leading and transforming a marketing services effort, achieved through cross-business segment collaboration, consensus building, process re-engineering, installing automation and influencing versus owning decision-making. Ability and experience working effectively within a complex, matrixed organization.
• Outstanding analytical skills, project management and attention to detail. Ability to define metrics for marketing alignment and demonstrated return on investment.
• Exemplary interpersonal and presentation skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills and, ideally, able to be a visible external representative of the firm in the business community.
• Deep understanding of regulatory environment, principles of marketing and connectivity to others in the financial services and marketing communities.
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• FINRA Series 7 and 24 preferred or able to obtain within 180 days of employment.
