The Tax Operations Project Manager will ensure successful execution of multiple assigned projects of varying size and complexity. The role must be able to manage the overall project plan, establish key customer relationships and manage expectations, be well organized and able to manage resources including people. They must have the ability to effectively communicate and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Experience within a tax compliance department and the ability to make interconnections that create efficiencies
• Ability to analyze business processes, complex problems, interpret operational needs, perform in-depth work analyses, and develop computer-generated flow charts
• Project leadership skills including resource management, project planning and tracking, status communication, problem identification and resolution
• Understanding in Project Management practices
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of project management tools
• Demonstrated appreciation of standards
• Strong collaboration skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Strong ability to organize resources and establish priorities
• Ability to develop and manage project budgets and projections
• Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of computing and information technology terms
• Interpersonal/human relations skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to establish priorities, demonstrate discipline and independent judgment
Requirements
• Undergraduate Degree (Business Administration preferred) or related work experience
• PMP Certification or other project management related training and certifications a plus
• A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience establishing and executing projects is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Visio
• Working knowledge of SharePoint, but not required
• Experience with the following project related activities:
• Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities
• Managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
• Applying standard project management methodologies and enforcing project standards
• Preparing project engagement reviews and quality assurance checks
• Managing project risks and developing mitigation plans
• Tracking and reporting team hours; expenses and managing all project budget related impacts
