Position Overview (Analyst)
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is part of a strong team of global strategic sourcing professionals at First Data Corporation. The Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization deploys resources globally to effectively manage third party spend through a structured, strategic approach to procurement with the aim of delivering and sustaining value creation. This role will be responsible for executing on innovative global category and sourcing strategies in the Professional Services category as well as reporting, analysis and coordination for overall sourcing activities. This role will work collaboratively with internal business clients as well as the supply base. This role reports to the Director – Global Strategic Sourcing.
Job Responsibilities Include:
◦ Work collaboratively with internal business clients as well as the supply base.
◦ Responsible for:
(i) negotiation of pricing and terms and conditions for professional services
(ii) creation of contracts and ordering documents
(iii) assists with ordering system and purchase order
(iv) participates in bidding process via requests for quotes or RFI/RFQ
(v) evaluates vendor responses
(vi) communicate with internal customer, vendor, support staff such as legal department, finance, asset management, compliance.
◦ Lead strategy and negotiations for sourcing projects
◦ Lead reporting requirements for purchasing activities
◦ Conduct ad-hoc analysis on an as-needed basis
◦ Drive the development of category strategies within the broader context of the overall technology and sourcing strategies
◦ Build and nurture collaborative relationships with key internal business
Job Requirements:
◦ 3+ years of relevant experience as a key member or leader of a sourcing team desired.
◦ Minimum three years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role with contract and price negotiation experience desired.
◦ Experience with working automated purchasing systems desired.
◦ Bachelor’s Degree required (Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent focus desired)
◦ Ability to demonstrate influencing skills and confidence to challenge at all levels
◦ Strong commercial awareness
◦ Knowledge of contracting terms and standards with high degree of attention to detail
◦ Strong deal and financial analysis skills
◦ Ability to work effectively in a global context demonstrating cultural and geographic sensitivity, awareness and flexibility
◦ Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously
◦ Strong analytical skills with ability to manage complex categories with minimal supervision
◦ Ability to manage through complex internal negotiations
◦ Knowledge of existing eSourcing platform technologies and providers
◦ Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
◦ Demonstrated project management skills
◦ High ethical standards, Self-motivated and goal oriented, Comfortable working in a matrixed environment across several time zones
